The Lee Brigadiers, in a 180-strong march, debut with a double echelon and a double countermarch as buglers play Kitchen Policeman.
In Bonn on September 11 1950 US Secretary of State John Foster Dulles met with Chancellor Konrad Adenauer to discuss German rearmament under a new defense plan. The talks centered on a British proposal linking West Germany to a broader defense pact with Britain and Western Europe.
Horace Ford of Oak Additon Jost reported losing $75 in a old time pigeon dropping game. He said two strangers asked him to guard their money. He placed it in a billfold, then the men and Ford’s money were taken, later placed in a sack for Ford’s wife. They fled after a store stop as the sack opened and the money disappeared.
Texas Attorney General John Ben Shepperd announced that Texas will join six other states in filing a brief with the U S Supreme Court on racial segregation in public schools. He said the move aims to present Texas’ position and that the brief would not bind the state to any ruling from the May decision on unconstitutionality.

A Baytown resident was injured when a knife slipped while cutting a shrub at home on Tuesday evening. The wound, an artery above the knee, required hospital care and left the patient in serious condition. Local authorities and hospital staff transported the individual to the Baytown medical facility for treatment.
The Cedar Bayou Cedar Bayou high school junior varsity game with Channelview was moved to Saturday at 7 30 p m at Cedar Bayou stadium due to conflicts with other schedules and players traveling to the Lee classic in Houston.
