County ends Baytown jail contract after county facility opens
Harris County will terminate its jail services contract with Baytown by October end as a new county facility on Wallisville Road replaces the need for the Baytown site. Since 1973 the county housed arrestees here before transport to Houston. the $76,000 annual contract ends with one final payment. Sales tax rebates lag behind 1985
