Memory of a 19th Century Baytown Hurricane Horror
A Baytown hurricane tale recalls the 19th century disaster on Black Duck Bay. John West, Clara McKie Grafton, and relatives sought shelter in a home that flooded to the ceiling, forcing a perilous escape via a drifting roof and boat. Clara drowned, and others perished as wreckage drifted toward Morgan's Point canal.
