Quick Thinking Saves Life Of Phone Worker
Rosalie Myers reports a quick-witted wife and two ambulance drivers saved Charlie Griffin, 23, of Cove, after he was electrocuted while installing a telephone. Griffin fell unconscious into a water pipe in the A. S. Bynum home on Ackberry Lane, as a 110-volt line arced through him. Mrs. Bynum’s sister, Mrs. W. Ker, cut the power and summoned help while Joe Speck and L. W. Sow ers from Earthman Funeral Home assisted Griffin from the attic to the floor and arranged transport to the hospital where doctors treated shock and burns. Griffin was not badly burned, but remained in serious shock.
