Services for Philip J. Bennett a Baytown resident 35 years were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Earthman Funeral Home. Rev. Rudy Pane officiated. Bennett, past president of his civic club, died Sunday in a Houston area hospital. He had been assistant city engineer since 1972 after retiring from Exxon Baytown Refinery. He helped plan the annual street improvement program and reviewed subdivision plans from 1942 to 1972. Bennett held a civil and mechanical engineering degree from Kansas State University.
