La Porte Woman's Husband Killed In Traffic Accident
Preston Calvin Brown, 30, husband of La Porte resident Mrs. Virginia Pfeiffer Brown, died in a head on collision near Seguin on Highway 90. Bobby Joe Barnes, 29, of Hill Terrace, was critically injured when his car plunged into an 18 foot ditch at North Main Road. Funeral services for Brown were set for 2 30 pm Wednesday at Art Simpson funeral home in La Porte. Brown, a Hughes Tool Company machine operator and WWII veteran, was survived by his wife, a daughter, Mary Frances, and his mother.
