Ranger fights crime on Gulf Coast during Ike rescue
In the wake of Hurricane Ike, Texas Ranger Jimmy Belt led a large livestock rescue along the Gulf Coast. Surging 20 foot waves and destroyed fences in Chambers and Jefferson counties left about 20,000 livestock roaming for high ground. Belt, with the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association, helped coordinate the response amid massive devastation.
