Humble Oil and Refining Co announces a large Baytown project adding a paraxylene crystallization unit to produce Paraxylene for synthetic fiber such as Dacron. Construction targets Dec 1952 start and May 1953 completion, with an admin building upgrade and a No 2 catalytic light ends unit planned for 1953 54. The refinery also finishes a filtration unit begun in 1948 and completed in February 1952 to purify and re-oxidize wastewater.

Funeral services are set for Saturday for Daniel B. Woodell 63 retired district clerk for Humble Pipeline Co. He died Thursday night in a Houston hospital after 21 years with the company largely in Baytown. He lived at 3405 Wisconsin with his wife Grace Baty Woodell.
