Gunman fired from job and called FBI before mass shooting
Odessa police and FBI described Seth Aaron Ator as recently fired from Journey Oilfield Services. He phoned police and FBI during the day, rambling about his distress before authorities shot him at the Odessa movie theater after a rampage that left seven dead and at least 22 wounded. Authorities noted a prior 2001 misdemeanor arrest but did not link it to gun access. Governor Abbott urged gun-control steps while stopping short of broad legislation.
