Fed sees economy expanding in summer with mixed signals
The Fed's survey shows broad growth from July to mid August with housing and auto sales as bright spots while manufacturing faces China slowdown and oil feels energy price drops. Eleven of twelve regional banks report moderate to modest growth though Cleveland barely grows. Markets fear could delay a September rate move, yet some economists expect a hike if job gains resume in August.
