Stolen Jeep and Car Reported. Ex‑Girlfriend Attack Leads Arrest
A red 1989 Jeep Cherokee was stolen from Old Oaks Drive after a window was broken. A man reported his 1993 white Chevrolet Caprice stolen on Garth Road. Francis Cherry, 29, was charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and family violence after attacking his ex girlfriend and her four children, restrained with duct tape. police arrested him at her house on South 2nd Street. The victim was treated for injuries and released from San Jacinto Hospital.

Baytown police report thefts and arrests across area
A white woman attempted to steal 200 dollars in merchandise from Wal-Mart on Garth Road Thursday but fled before officers arrived. A Payless employee was charged with theft for stealing shoes at Garth Road. Two 22 year old men were arrested at San Jacinto Mall for public intoxication and possession of marijuana and other drugs. A 23 year old man was arrested at Travis Elementary with more than 40 grams of marijuana. A black woman left Wal-Mart with a computer valued at 498 dollars in the 4900 block of Garth Road. An 18 year old man was arrested for stealing video games valued at 235 dollars. Baytown Police responded to 174 calls between Friday and Saturday, including 13 alarms, three assaults, and multiple thefts and burglaries.
