Baytown mugging and hotel burglary report on Sunday

Police said a Baytown man was robbed at 3400 Market Street by four young Hispanic males, suffering a four inch head cut and hospital treatment. Jeffery Blair Plenty, 23, was charged with burglary of a habitation for a Dregor Hotel break in at 107 W Pearce with $10,000 bond. An 8-year-old girl and a 14-year-old girl reported exposure incidents nearby, with two men seen.

Theft spree hits San Jacinto Mall and area homes

A pickup valued at 5100 was stolen from San Jacinto Mall Saturday afternoon. Jewelry, cigarettes and 413 in cash were taken from a residence on Barcelona Circle Saturday. Household goods worth 6606 were taken from Massey Tompkins Road between mid July and Friday. Coin rings and 2213 value stolen from Williams Coin and Stamp at the mall late Friday or early Saturday. 6000 stolen from mall parking lot Sunday afternoon. A 17 year old Baytown man was arrested at 315 a.m. Monday in an unauthorized use case. charges pending. Three men tied to gunshots near the Spur 55 bridge led police to confiscate a shotgun and a motorcycle possibly stolen. one man reported operating it.

Crime Stoppers offers 1000 dollars for information on an aggravated sexual assault of a Baytown woman on July 8. At 6:30 p.m. she was attacked on a trail between Jenkins and Holloway parks by a white man about 25 to 30, 4 feet 11 inches, with sandy neck-length hair and a mustache. Council approves bell press rental and purchase plan

Baytown City Council approved emergency steps for renting a belt press to treat sludge at the Central District Wastewater Treatment Plant and to buy a belt press later. Shortcake theft case tossed by federal court

U M es Wash, 44, was arrested at the Audie Murphy Memorial Veterans Administration Hospital on a charge of willful removal of government property for taking a strawberry shortcake. Prosecutors dismissed the case after determining no federal case was warranted, noting other avenues to address the issue. The incident began June 6 when a short man in a purple vest took the cake. Wash was later released for back treatment at the hospital.
