Stagecoach dream drives Washington craftsman westward
LILLIWAUP Wash AP Westby a 47 year old craftsman plans a grand stagecoach build to attract tourists and fund a land purchase. Since 1954 he carved 80 Kwakiutl Nootka and Tlingit pieces and a 5 by 2 1 2 foot flag plaque. He aims to raise 15000 for land a studio and to learn horse driving. He hopes the coach becomes a regional draw and a showcase of native art.
