Daylight saving time ends at 2 a.m. Sunday as clocks fall back to 1 a.m. in Baytown and most of the United States. Expect an extra hour of sleep but darker evenings on the return home. Friday sunset is 6 35 p.m. and Monday 5 33 p.m. DST resumes March 8, 2015.

Tease Me Please Me Hair Design salon at 1400 S. Pruett St converts every Halloween into a haunted house for charity. For the second year in a row all proceeds go to the Wounded Warrior Project. Admission ranges from five to ten dollars with a goal of raising about one thousand dollars this year.
The Bay Area Homeless Services seeks a three month groundbreaking for a 6000 square foot Family Center to house up to six intact families in east Harris, Chambers, and Liberty counties. The project aims to stop families being split by dormitory rules and has $550,000 in commitments.
The City of Baytown will close its five spray parks at 8 p.m. Sunday with locations at Roseland Park Bergeron Park McElroy Park Pelly Park and Central Heights Park. They will reopen Saturday March 7. Renovations at Roseland Park Spray Park include valve and controller replacement and concrete resurfacing. Roseland Park opened May 1 2002 as the first funded Baytown Municipal Development District project. All parks are free and operate eight months yearly. A future park is planned for Jenkins Park.
Goose Creek CISD hosts a 6 p.m. dedication ceremony at the Alamo Elementary cafetorium located at 6100 N. Main. The event marks the new campus built after the 2013 bond, with a cornerstone laying by Cedar Bayou Masonic Lodge No. 321, student-led tours, and a reception.
