A woman at Wal-Mart on Garth Road was part of a scam involving a supposed kidnap and a lottery payout, losing about 5000 dollars. Other incidents include a home burglary worth 9500 dollars on New Jersey Street and a car wash robbery with a handgun and bat, plus an assault with possible gunfire at Village Lane. Police responded to 149 calls from Tuesday to Wednesday, including nine alarms and several burglaries and thefts.
