Early voting opens with council race on District 1
Early voting begins Monday and runs through November 1 with Election Day on November 5. District 1 features a contest between incumbent Laura Alvarado and former councilman Mercedes Renteria. Districts 2 and 3 have unopposed incumbents Chris Presley and Charles Johnson. Beach City votes on three aldermen: Ryan Dagley, Paul Newman III, and Raymond Smith, plus a referred 1.5 percent measure.

ExxonMobil employees and volunteers from multiple plants joined United Way Days of Caring for Baytown projects. About 800 ExxonMobil volunteers and several hundred more completed nearly 50 tasks through Saturday at Baytown Nature Center and surrounding areas.
