REL Class of 55 recalls golden era at Cedar Bayou and Goose Creek
The class of 1955 remembers two state playoff runs for REL football at the Cotton Bowl and state titles in tennis. They note districts Goose Creek and Cedar Bayou merging, the first REL graduates from both, and a carefree, pre television era full of dances, social events, and community gatherings. Notable members include Fay Farar Yates, Bob Yates, Carole Trotter Ames, and leaders like J. W. Gammel and Glenn Watson.
