Baytown library fights for ESL program support
Baytown’s ESL program faces funding gaps as Texas A&M focuses state ESL education on one hub per state. The library offers space tutors resources and materials but lacks a coordinator and staff to guide adult learners many of whom hope to improve English for GEDs school communication or helping their children. Hendricks appeals to local business for support while volunteers meet one on one. Anyone wishing to donate or tutor can call the library.
