Harris County Precinct Two and the Veterans Service office of Commissioner Sylvia R. Garcia sponsor a noon to 4 p.m. veterans and families picnic on Oct 18 at Highlands Park, 604 Highland Woods Drive. After hurricane Ike, Patti Meiners leads Baytown Little Theater in Seussical the Musical opening October 17 with 8 pm curtain. Additional shows October 18 24 25 matinees 19 25 26 2:30 pm. Sterling Municipal Library will start an evening storytime for children from birth to five on Oct 13 at 6 15 pm. The program aims to boost early literacy with books songs nursery rhymes storytelling and parachute play. Library officials hope it draws new families to explore library offerings.
