Wealthy Californian’s death fuels family tragedy at sea
A Santa Monica man, 47 year old Philip Zetzer, drove from city harbor to the pier, swerved and plunged into the sea. His mother Bertha Zetzer, 75, died at Beverly Hills after learning of his death. An empty pill bottle was found nearby. Police labeled both deaths probable suicides, noting Mrs Zetzer’s grief and lack of motive.
