Baytown residents charged with murder in Mixon shooting
Police charged 31 year old Thomas Ford Bland and 24 year old Courtney Nicole Mosely with murder in the Sunday night shooting of Irad Lloyd Mixon at a 3400 block Garth Road apartment complex. Detectives say the shooting was not random and identify witnesses helped lead to the arrests. Additional suspects sought. motive not disclosed.

Operation School Bell uniforms brighten Head Start kids
Preschoolers at J D Walker Head Start received free new uniforms as Operation School Bell enters its third year. The new Altus Baytown Medical Center begins with an MRI unit and aims to full operation by November. Located at 1626 W Baker Rd the ambulatory surgical center will offer outpatient surgery a sleep center a radiation oncology center and an imaging center with October openings for imaging and radiation oncology followed by surgical and sleep centers in November.
