Highlands Cleanup Day draws volunteers to liven parks and streets
The Pilot Club of Highlands hosted Highlands Cleanup Day with about 150 residents bringing bulk trash to Highlands Elementary. Volunteers from the Pilot Club, Sampson Masonic lodge, and Precinct 2 Road and Bridge loaded waste into dump trucks and hauled it to Brown Ferris landfill. The city seeks to beautify before the Highlands Jamboree and parade, with participation tied to National Public Lands Day at Wallisville Lake Project venues like Cedar Hill Park and J.J. Mayes Wildlife Trail.
