Texas nodal electricity market to go live December 1
The West Chambers County Chamber of Commerce president says the Texas electricity nodal market goes live December 1 shifting pricing from a zonal to a node based system with more than 4,000 delivery points. The change aims to reveal expensive pockets and spur cheaper generation or transmission options, likened in impact to the AT&T breakup of 1984. See electricity page 3A.

Unreturned library book leads Crosby woman to jail time
A Crosby woman was taken to Baytown jail Thanksgiving Day on an arrest warrant for failing to appear in court and for failing to return a library book. Sterling Municipal Library director Katherine Brown noted charges require over $200 in library property and failure to respond to notices. The warrant targets nonappearance, not the library item alone.

Nostalgic Baytown Drive-In ornament captures bygone era
A Baytown Christmas ornament highlights Trainer's Drive-In a popular late 1950s venue at Alexander Drive and Ward Road. From 1956 to 1969 families and teens visited for inexpensive food served by carhops, and many memories center on social moments and even couples meeting there. Trainer, now in his 20s then, recalls the era as Baytown’s social hub. The feature appears on Baytown Historical Preservation Association’s page 5A.
