Highland Park ISD names Freda Wilcox director of technology
Freda Wilcox was approved by the Highland Park ISD Board as district director of technology. She previously led instructional technology and data analysis at Goose Creek and has long had roles as campus administrator and teacher. Wilcox holds multiple certifications and a doctorate from Texas A&M, with a son enrolled at Texas A&M.

Barrett Station Center opens in Harris County community
Harris County Commissioner Sylvia R Garcia opens the Barrett Station Community Center at 808 1/2 Magnolia adjacent to Riley Chambers Park. The 9 250 square foot facility costs 1 2 million and seats 400. The old center connects via walkway and houses a commercial kitchen. Other incidents include a stolen green 24 inch Huffy bicycle, a man posing as an usher at Premiere Cinema stealing $15 in tickets, a marijuana discovery during a disturbance call, a protective order violation involving a hospital visit, a juvenile driver arrested for traffic offenses, a stolen vehicle case tied to crack cocaine, and a late night car theft at Quail Hollow Drive with a 1996 to 1997 white Chevrolet Cavalier.
