Baytonians Urged to Give Blood as Bloodmobile Visits
Baytonians were urged to donate blood as the Bloodmobile scheduled a visit to the new civic center from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Miss Janice Manteris, chairman of the blood drive, said many plan to donate but delay, leaving accounts for hospitals underfunded. Only 43 units were donated in July, August, and October, far short of the roughly 100 units per month needed. Blood can be donated without an appointment, though appointments may be arranged through Gulf Coast Hospital laboratory.
