Christmas Calendar Highlights From Santa Land Events

Santa Land on December 14 features Baytown Little Theater and Sterling Stars with Horace Mann Junior School Band and Handels Choir. Yale poem and play, nativity scene, a Christmas story and movie accompany the night. December 15 includes Lee Brigadiers and Sterling Band with the nativity scene again and a Recreation Revue. The Community Center hosts a two day Christmas bazaar, while Trinity Church sponsors a pilgrimage Sunday and Monday.

Wrecker Ordinance Update Draws Support From Baytown Leaders

City Set To Use Landfill In Coady Site

City moves to begin dumping at the Coady landfill on Wednesday with a bulldozer in place and McLean Road work finished. City Attorney Neel Richardson says the city has the right to use the dump while appeals proceed, citing the district court ruling in favor of the city and state health department. Plaintiffs from Coady, led by L. A. Greene of Houston, appealed on Nov. 10, with possible further court action in the Court of Civil Appeals in Austin.

County considers disabled veterans tax exemptions plan

County Tax Assessor Carl S. Smith urged the Commissioners Court to adopt amendments approving disabled veterans exemptions based on injury scales.
