Mental hospital at Rusk serves 2000 patients
Rusk Texas AP reports a state mental hospital, part of the public system, cares for about 2000 patients with extensive programs including occupational therapy and religious services. Dr Charles Castner notes nearly 4000 received treatment in 1967 and about 2900 recovered to varying degrees, with long stays declining but ongoing challenges for long-term patients and families.
