Redus wrongful death suit sent back to state court
The Redus family won a ruling sending their wrongful death lawsuit against UIW and campus officer Cpl. Christopher Carter back to state district court. U S District Judge David Alan Ezra said state law governs all claims. the Dec 6 2013 fatal shooting of Cameron Redus by Carter near the UIW campus sparked the suit.

A manatee found in Trinity Bay was captured in a joint effort by the U S Fish and Wildlife Service Texas Parks and Wildlife the Texas Marine Mammal Stranding Network and the Chambers County Sheriff s Office. The adult male appeared underweight with no injuries and will rest and feed at SeaWorld San Antonio before returning to the Tampa Bay area in Florida.
