Longtime Baytown Lee coach Hillin reflects on impact over wins
Baytown Lee baseball coach James Hillin, retiring after this season, highlights the lasting bonds with his players. He recalls Pat Holmes, a pitcher who starred from freshman year and led the team to the 1999 regional finals, and Josh Ford, a top catching prospect in the Diamondbacks system. Hillin also recalls Jason Worth of Team USA and an Arkansas quarterback, Clint Stoerner, noting how some players pursued pro careers in other sports. He values the relationships and the chance to influence young lives as much as wins.
