Chambers County approves tax rolls and road project funding
Chambers County Commissioners approved fiscal year 2003 tax rolls totaling 17.18 million dollars presented by Margie Henry. They also backed a drainage improvement on Farm Road 1406 to ease flooding near Anahuac with county funds while TxDOT handles traffic control. The board authorized purchases of a one ton garbage truck and an inmate transport pickup. They endorsed joining the SERPC HOME Investment Partnership Program to aid housing and rehab, with funds from HUD administered by SERPC and disbursed to Orange. An agreement with Cedar Crossing Park developers calls for East Greenwood Road improvements to serve the project, while the client reportedly negotiates with the state, delaying the official announcement.
