Insurance credit scoring rules debated by Texas regulator
Commissioner Jose Montemayor adopted rules regulating how auto and home insurers use credit records for premium calculations while delaying a cap on surcharges or discounts. The rules require disclosure to policyholders, dispute avenues, and actuarial justification, and shield those with no credit history. A study will assess impacts across groups before a cap is set.

A Baytown reader rails against Lee College’s plan to rename the student paper Rebel arguing after 30 plus years the change is unnecessary and misdirected. It also includes a separate thank you note praising the Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center of Baytown for a Thanksgiving dinner event.
