Cruisin Texas Toy Run draws thousands for holiday gifts
On Saturday December 21 Baytown hosts the seventh annual Cruisin Texas Toy Run and Toy Drive at the Baytown Community Center. An estimated 2500 children accompanied by a parent or guardian will greet Santa after bikes and cars arrive. Entry requires a new unwrapped toy or $10 per person. Organizers say there are no income or residency checks and toys go to children 12 and younger. Santa rides in the city’s vintage fire truck as participants from Pelican Junction ice house collect donations and toys.
