In Five Stone a rage driven teen shot an ex convict John Seaty hospitalizing him after a confrontation over Marion Grace 16 and her sister. The shooter, Norman Jackson Slade, with a prior assault conviction, fled after the early Monday incident near Baytown. Witnesses say Slade fired multiple shots after returning home and arming himself with his father’s gun. Grace’s relatives pursued him to a tavern where another shooting ensued. Slade had recently been released from prison. investigators note long standing feud with the Grace family.

17 Year Old Girl Attacked In Houston Alley

A 17 year old woman walking home from work was assaulted by a Black male in Houston on a Sunday night. She described being dragged into a shed, threatened with death, and escaping after about 20 feet. Police arrested a 16 year old suspect but sought another man as potential identification.

Weather Thaws Drouth as Texas Receives Rain

A warm Gulf air mass and a colliding low pressure system brought rain to Texas, easing a two year drought in parts of the state. Busch Terrace Water Well Down For Rewind

Residents of the Busch Terrace-Rio Vista area report only a trickle of water as the main pump to the Busch Terrace well burned out Sunday night and is in the shop for rewinding. The area, including Emory and Barbers private water system, will be without full supply until about noon Tuesday when the pump is expected back in service. Public Works Director Grantham said water comes only by a two inch line from the Mid-Baytown system, the sole link capable of servicing the area.
