Small SUV newcomers fail to dethrone top performers
Consumer Reports tested four small sport utilities the Kia Sportage Saturn Vue Ford Escape and Jeep Patriot finding none could beat the Honda CR V Hyundai Santa Fe Subaru Forester or Toyota RAV4. The Kia Sportage and Saturn Vue were the best in this group yet only midpack in CR ratings and had the lowest fuel economy. The Sportage, like the Hyundai Tucson, offers a roomy interior refined powertrain and good finish for about the same price.
