Three heretical thoughts on American education reform
Arkansas Times columnist Gene Lyons argues public schools may be improving due to teacher professionalism and cautions against overreliance on test scores for tenure and pay. He critiques Tennessee's First to the Top evaluation plan, warns of flawed metrics across subjects, and questions miracle cures pushed by reformers like Michelle Rhee.
