Area Mishaps Leave Three Badly Injured
Six traffic accidents and two drilling rig mishaps in the Goose Creek oil field left three men seriously injured and several others bruised during a hectic Baytown weekend. Dave Newman, 69, Channelview, is in critical condition after being struck on Merket Street Road. EA Foster, 23, was injured near Goose Creek bridge when pipe tongs struck him. C. L. Chavers, 37, Park, was knocked from his motorcycle on Texas and Pruett, suffering multiple injuries. William C. Childers, 39, Baytown, and F. J. McGee, 27, were hurt in a collision on Market Street Road. The injured were treated at local hospitals. investigations continued.

Hill Of Rest Burial For Frank Dietzel
Services for Frank Dietzel, 57, were to be held at 3 pm. today at Earthman Chapel with Rev. E. F. Lange officiating. Burial will be in Hill of Rest Cemetery. Dietzel, former resident of Houston and Highlands, returned to his family home in Dedham, Massachusetts, a little more than a year ago. He died after becoming ill in Houston while visiting his foster son Oran Lester. Lester said his foster mother died in Massachusetts about six months ago. Survivors include his father George Dietzel of Dedham, four sisters Myrs Lena Obechon Elise Barrett and Helen Westgard of Dedham, and Sophia Jones of Walpole, and a brother Henry Dietzel of Dedham. Pallbearers are J. D. Higginbotham, G. G. Wilson, A. W. Schneider, Monroe Treat, M. L. Bishop and Rev. Claude Franklin.
