Occupy as cultural term spans banks churches and protests
In a reflective column, Dr Newbury traces how occupy moved from historical phrases to modern demonstrations from Occupy Wall Street to small town church names and oddball signs. He notes the sentiment behind protests tied to wealth gaps and civility, with anecdotes from Louisiana Texas and Virginia. He cites local cases like Ban the Can in New Braunfels and ends with a quip on signs at aircraft seats.
