Indicted for Assault in Harris County Case
Isaac N. Fields dredgeout worker was indicted by the Harris County grand jury on a criminal assault charge involving a man’s wife. Constable Paul Anderson said Fields was arrested in Galveston on a warrant from Justice of the Peace Waller Queen’s court. The Galveston arrest followed a Baytown preliminary hearing where the woman testified a man lured her from home to a boat landing in Lynchburg and took her to Hog Island where the assault occurred.

Diamond Alkali Faces Charges Over Water Pollution
R J Woll manager of Diamond Alkali Greens Bayou plant posted bonds totaling 3600 after three pollution charges were filed by Dr Walter Quebedeaux head of the county health unit anti pollution division. The complaints allege Diamond Alkali dumped acid waste and other toxic materials used in insecticide into a ditch feeding Greens Bayou harming public health aquatic life and endangering concrete structures and wharves.

Ex La Porte Mayor H F Pfeiffer Dies
Harold J. Pfeiffer former mayor of La Porte Texas and head of Pfeiffer Electric Co died at 1 30 am Wednesday in Pasadena hospital after a heart attack. He moved to La Porte in 1933 and later lived in Houston at 216 Oakmont. Pfeiffer served as mayor 1948 1952 and was a 25 year veteran of the La Porte Volunteer Fire Department. Funeral at 3 pm Thursday at Art Simp gon Funeral Home La Porte with Rev Carlos Davis officiating. Burial in Grandview Cemetery Spencer Highway near La Porte. He is survived by his widow Frances and a son Harold P Pfeiffer City Commissioner.

Grand Jury Gets Theft Case Three Charges Against Man Dismissed
A theft and two burglary counts against Robert A. Thomas were dismissed by Justice of the Peace Walter Queen. Thomas bound over to the grand jury on a third burglary charge. He and a juvenile were arrested in Louisiana on November 1 in a stolen car from Taligy Auto Sales. The car theft charge and a burglary of Talley Auto Sales were dismissed due to federal charges. A burglary of Baytown Roller Rink was dismissed for insufficient evidence. Henry Santana was listed as operator but testified he worked at another rink. Thomas faces further grand jury action on related offenses and was bound under 500 dollars. The incidents followed a Halloween celebration with two juveniles involved. One juvenile testified he was in the car but did not witness a burglary or theft.
