Superintendent James Hopper cites rising regional jobs and a rural appeal as Anahuac ISD reports a 5.8 percent enrollment increase. Anahuac Elementary gains 92 students while Anahuac High School, Middle School, and Elementary total 1,306 students across the district.
Anahuac ISD may launch a student driven soccer program starting in the 2016 17 school year. Superintendent Hopper notes high interest with over 50 students eager to join and more girls than boys. If approved at December board, UIL notice is required by January to begin in 4A or 3A alignment.
Anahuac ISD explores blended learning to combine online tools with in classroom activities across elementary, middle, and high schools. Teachers Lori Lambert Rebecca Green and Karen Hooper demonstrate stations videos and Chromebooks while pursuing a Raise Your Hand Texas grant to fund 1 to 1 devices and home access for high school students.
