WWII tattoos mark Iwo Jima veteran grand marshal in Brownsville
Armando Elizardo, a Brownsville WWII veteran and parade grand marshal, bears decades of ink recalling battles and his five brothers' deaths. He was among the few who fought at Iwo Jima, endured trench rats, and later found family meaning in stories and rekindled memories. His life, a mix of service, tattoos, and a mother’s faith, highlights veterans' unseen scars.
