An 11 year old high school senior? Wait. A gunman, Robert Smith of Mia, forced seven women and girls to lie on the floor at Rose-Mar College of Beauty in Mesa and shot five to death. Police say he planned mass killings after considering other targets and bought gear for suffocation but used a 22 caliber pistol to kill. An employee was wounded. the suspect was arrested at the scene.

Highlands youth dies in high speed Highway 146 crash
A 19 year old Highlands resident, Jack Edward Cain, died and passenger Terrell Stanley was injured when a car traveling west on Highway 146 at about 100 mph left the road at Lee Drive. Cain died on arrival at San Jacinto Methodist Hospital. Stanley, 19, was listed in good condition. Funeral arrangements for Cain were pending. The wreck, occurring Friday at 11:20 pm, followed wet roads and heavy fog. Cain and Stanley were unbelted. Investigating officer Patrolman Glen Rosier noted the car rolled, traveled 80 more feet, and ended up on its wheels.
