Veterans groups seek younger troops amid aging ranks

Local veterans groups report steady but aging membership with Gulf War and older veterans declining. Baytown Veterans Day Ceremony Set at Bicentennial Park

Baytown hosts its annual Veterans Day ceremony at 11 a.m. at Veterans Memorial Plaza Bicentennial Park 119 Lee Drive. State Rep. Wayne Smith and Mayor Steve DonCarlos will speak, Jennifer Escamilla and Ginny Boucher will sing, Duwain Duman will deliver the benediction, JROTC will present colors, and a flyover by Ellington Field's 147th Fighter Wing is planned. Local veterans groups and service organizations will wreath the event, presented by Parks and Recreation.

Victory Stars idea spreads at Robert E. Lee High
