Governor promises statement on Baytown landfill plan
Baytown officials and residents opposed to the TSP Development Ltd. landfill north of Beach City met Governor Perry after lobbying by Mayor Pete Alfaro. Perry pledged a forthcoming statement and asked staff to seek more details. Alfaro said about 100000 area residents oppose the project citing water and air quality concerns in Chambers and Harris counties.

Chambers County grand jury dropped attempted capital murder against Vernon Coates and returned two counts of aggravated assault on police officers.
