ExxonMobil's Baytown Chemical Plant earns the 2003 National Safety Council Industry Leader Award for top safety in the Chemicals and Allied Products sector. It is among 22 companies in the top 5 percent of NSC’s Occupational Awards Program, with only one lost time incident in two and a half years. Plant manager Stéphane de Mahieu credits Safe Work Practice Teams and Job Hazard Analysis for the achievement while NSC notes its nonprofit, global safety role.
