Baytown voters approve 18 of 19 charter amendments
Voters approved 18 of 19 city charter amendments while rejecting Proposition 2 which would have paid Baytown mayors up to 1000 dollars a month and council members up to 500 dollars. The measure failed 57 to 43 percent with about 75 percent of Harris County precincts counted. Amendments also address annexation finance citizen participation conflicts of interest and periodic charter reviews.
