Cap removal urged for San Jacinto River Waste Pits
In a guest view, Galveston Bay Foundation criticizes McGinnis Industrial Maintenance and supports EPA removal of dioxin waste from the San Jacinto River pits. The piece argues that capping is risky long term and endorses full removal using BMPs like sheet piles and earthen berms under EPA and Army Corps oversight, noting historical flood events and new scour evidence. Scott Jones of GBF signs as advocacy director.
