Baytown considers six propositions to fund parks and streetscape

Proposition 3 commits 10.94 million for parks upgrades including a new aquatics facility at Wayne Gray Sports Complex and land near I-10 for future parks. Proposition 5 would issue 2.52 million for Texas Avenue streetscape and a model block with a federal grant. Proposition 6 earmarks 2.02 million for drainage to reduce floods and develop a storm water plan. District officials press for action, arguing Texas Avenue could become a vibrant shopping and arts district with infrastructure and sidewalks.
