Golf course sale defeated in Baytown vote late hours
Baytown voters narrowly rejected the proposed purchase of Evergreen Point Golf Course, leaving the city without a golf course. Mayor Stephen DonCarlos called it a lost opportunity while supporters argued a redeveloped municipal course could boost the economy, especially south Baytown. The course closure had left Baytown with no public golf facility.
