A 32 year old woman reported a shop employee photographed her with a camera in an oil pit under her car while she waited for a sticker renewal. The flash was seen as she stood beside the pit and the suspect fled before police arrived. The manager said the employee would be fired. The investigation continues.
A 38-year-old Channelview man was stabbed during an attempted robbery on East Wallisville Road around 8 p.m. Tuesday and is in stable condition at Ben Taub Hospital. Three young Hispanic males, two in black shirts and one in white, fled after the attack. In a separate incident, a 9-year-old Channelview boy suffered a severe right eye injury from a BB gun at about 3:35 p.m. on Pecan Street while a friend fire d the weapon. he was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital with unclear condition.
A Baytown small business in the 700 block of East Texas was broken into late Monday or early Tuesday after the front door was shattered. The cash register was damaged but emptied earlier. this incident ties to a series of recent similar burglaries targeting small shops with entry by smashing windows or doors. Police say the crimes may be connected.
Police report a burglary attempt in the 700 block of Morrell Avenue around 4 50 PM. Neighbors saw a black male trying to break into a residence, chased him away, and alerted authorities. Police note the suspect fled the scene.
Police say a 30-year-old Baytown woman backed a car into her estranged husband who was removing license plates at the 3500 block of Red Cedar Bend. Police search for a black male about 25, 5'10" with a slim build after a nighttime confrontation at a North Alexander body shop. The armed man fired three times at a resident who returned fire with 16 shots, the suspect fell, limped away with a shotgun, and fled with a presumed Hispanic accomplice. No gunshot victims were found at area hospitals.
