Gasoline pipeline blast risks Southeast fuel prices
A fatal explosion shut down Colonial Pipeline's main gasoline line near Helena Alabama after a dirt-moving tool struck it. The blast disrupted nearly 40 percent of regional gasoline supply, with estimates of continued closure possibly for days or weeks and prices rising across Alabama Georgia Tennessee and the Carolinas. Colonial operates 5599 miles of pipelines delivering gasoline jet fuel and home heating oil to 13 states and DC.
